REFERENCE GROUP

Inclusion NT Reference Group

The Reference Group is a sub-committee of the SACID Board. They give advice to the Board, Inclusion NT team and Local Steering Group.

The NT Reference Group started in October 2024. It has members from Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs. 

The group has been taking turns to chair the meetings and build leadership skills. 

The group has talked about: 

  • Groups that support Inclusion NT with its work.
  • How to speak up to government. 
  • Making decisions with the NT Public Guardian and Trustee.

Our Members

Amy

Amy likes painting, dancing and walking.

Andrew

Andrew is a radio broadcaster in Mparntwe/Alice Springs and has a daily breakfast show on 8CCC community radio. 

He also works with Territory FM through Charles Darwin University, and is a professional DJ. 

He is an active member of the community. 

Bec

Bec likes painting, walks, and watching Netflix.

Bec is part of a Sign Language Choir.

Bec wants people to know that she is hard of hearing.

Bec enjoys being on the Inclusion Northern Territory Reference Group.

Ben

Ben likes chocolate and tea.

Ben’s hobbies are technology and bike riding.

Ben’s strengths are technology and explaining things to people in a way that they can understand.

Cheryl

Cheryl likes walking every afternoon to get out of the house. Now that she has a power chair, nobody sees her as she is too fast!

Cheryl was born in Katherine and has lived in Katherine for most of her life. 

Cheryl has 7 adult children who she loves dearly.

Cheryl loves participating in designing her bottles of lights at her employment supports program in Katherine. 

Cheryl is really good at art and loves participating in art projects when she can.

Marissa

Marissa loves her sister and her mum.

Marissa also loves listening to music and walking.
