At Inclusion NT we think that it is really important that people with intellectual disability and their families have access to information.

OUR WORKSHOPS

When you have information you can make good choices about your life.

One way that Inclusion NT helps people to get information is by running free capacity building workshops. 

We run free workshops for:

Workshops have been developed by South Australian Council on Intellectual Disability (SACID). 

Inclusion NT workshops are co-facilitated by our staff with intellectual disability.

FREE WORKSHOPS FOR PEOPLE
WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY

My Boundaries

This workshop helps you understand what boundaries are and why they matter. You’ll learn how to tell others about your boundaries and how to respect theirs. 

 

We use clear examples and fun activities to make it easy to understand, so everyone feels confident in setting healthy boundaries in everyday life!

My Good Life

This workshop will help you to think about your goals and ways that you can work towards achieving them. 

This workshop includes:

  • Looking at your strengths.
  • Thinking about a good life.
  • Good and bad supports and services.
  • speaking up and advocacy.

 

This is a great workshop for you if you have a NDIS plan review coming up.

My Relationships

This workshop helps you to learn about your body, your rights, and how to have healthy relationships.

We will talk about:

  • Public and private places.
  • Your body.
  • Ok and Not Ok touch.
  • Sexuality.
  • Building healthy relationships.
  • Consent.

 

You must be over 18 years to do this workshop.

I Can Lead

This 3-part workshop series is based on SACID’s I Can Lead workbooks.

This workshop is a great way to build your leadership skills for use in your life and community.

You will learn more about:

  • Your strengths.
  • Professional skills.
  • Public speaking.
  • Formal and informal leadership roles.
 

This series can be adapted for leadership programs within your organisation. Send an enquiry to find out more.

Staying Safe

In this workshop we talk about how you can stay safe in your home, service, workplace and community.

We will tell you about different kinds of abuse, what to do if you are ever feeling unsafe and what services can help you.

Learn how to Speak up! Reach out! and Get help! if you ever feel unsafe.

You must be over 18 years old to do this workshop.

Past workshops

In the past we have run workshops on the following topics

  • Your Service, Your Rights about knowing your rights when getting services through the NDIS.

Due to current funding we are unable to continue running these workshops however we do have resources on these topics available to share so contact Inclusion NT today if interested!

Workshops across the Northern Territory

Do you live or work outside of Darwin? We are a Territory-wide service and can travel to different places each year. 

If you are interested in our workshops please contact us and we can try to schedule travel to your area.
